O God, Our Help In Ages Past
O God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come, Our shelter from the stormy blast, And our eternal home. Under the shadow of Thy throne Thy saints have dwelt secure; Sufficient is Thine arm alone, And our defense is sure. Before the hills in order stood, Or earth received her frame, From everlasting Thou art God, To endless years the same. Thy Word commands our flesh to dust, “Return, ye sons of men”: All nations rose from earth at first, And turn to earth again. A thousand ages in Thy sight Are like an evening gone; Short as the watch that ends the night Before the rising sun. The busy tribes of flesh and blood, With all their lives and cares, Are carried downwards by the flood, And lost in foll’wing years. Time, like an ever-rolling stream, Bears all its sons away; They fly, forgotten, as a dream Dies at the op’ning day. Like flow’ry fields the nations stand Pleased with the morning light; The flow’rs beneath the mower’s hand Lie with’ring ere ’tis night. O God, our help in ages past, Our hope for years to come, Be Thou our guard while troubles last, And our eternal home. Dearest Jesus,
You, who were before the world began. You lived to die and was rejected and alone. You are like a rose that was trampled on the ground; You took the fall, because of us, above all. You were crucified. You laid behind a stone. And now You plead for us. Thank You Jesus. Amen. King of Heaven,
What an honor! What a privilege! What a sacred duty is ours! We come to You this morning in prayer through worship of Your holy name. We begin our day with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We recognize the necessity of this needed discipline and find joy in the doing. O thank You, our precious Heavenly Father, for wanting to be with us. We love You and pray in Your only Son’s name. Amen. O Lord,
Thank You for Your lovingkindness to us. We are so grateful that You are our God, our Savior, our Healer, our Deliverer. We are grateful that You are working behind the scenes, where we cannot see. We trust You. We wait on You. We worship You. And we pray to You in Jesus’ holy name. Amen. Dear Father,
Thank You for the joy of Your holy and blessed Sabbath. Thank You for the sacred rest from the week’s toil. Thank You for this focused time of consecration and joyful devotion. We worship You. We honor You. We love You. You are our God. We pray in the sweetest Name we know. Amen. “For it is the God Who commanded light to shine out of darkness, Who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
2 Corinthians 4:6 NKJV Dear Jesus,
We come boldly to the throne with humble thanksgiving. We storm the gates to sit at Your feet. We bask in Your goodness, Your mercy, Your love. We ask for nothing but communion and oneness. We long for the fellowship of Your suffering, but dare not ask because we know what it will mean. Give us courage, O Lord. We need Your strength to go through. Help us, our King.
